Geotechnical - Finite Element Analysis Software

SAFE - provides two-dimensional finite element computations in plane stress, plane strain, or axial symmetry. Pore pressures and effective stresses are identified separately, and gravitational loads and initial stresses are included.

Geotechnical - Piling Software

ALP - analyses the soil structure interaction of a laterally loaded pile. The program calculates deflection down the pile together with bending moments and shear forces within the pile.

DRIVE - is a one-dimensional dynamics program which analyses stresses and displacements during pile driving. The program is useful for predicting whether the pile is capable of handling stresses arising during pile-driving, without de-bonding and yielding.

Pile calculates the vertical load carrying capacities of a range of individual piles in a layered soil deposit. The theory is based on both conventional and new methods for drained (frictional) and undrained (cohesive) soils.

Geotechnical - Retaining Walls Software

Frew analyses flexible retaining structures such as sheet pile or diaphragm walls. The program calculates deformations and the stresses in the retaining structure through a number of construction stages from the initial installation of the wall through a series of activities such as variations of soil levels and water pressures, the insertion or removal of ground anchors and the application or removal of surcharges.

Stawal checks the stability of cantilever or propped retaining walls. The program determines the penetration required to prevent rotational instability of the wall. It also calculates the bending moments and shear forces occurring in the wall at the limiting condition and the strut force is calculated for propped walls.

Greta analyses the stability of a gravity retaining wall and determines the bending moments and shear forces in the stem, heel and toe of the retaining wall. It also calculates the resultant force on the base and the sliding resistance.

Geotechnical - Soil Movement Software

Slope performs two-dimensional slope stability analysis to study circular or non-circular slip surfaces. The program uses the method of slices and offers a variety of established methods for calculating inter-slice forces, including the Fellenius, Bishop and Janbu methods.

Vdisp calculates the vertical settlements and stresses within a layered elastic soil mass arising from vertical pressure loading applied to rectangular and circular loaded areas. The program is ideal for predicting the settlement that may arise due to the action of several foundation loads at multiple levels.

Tunset analyses the ground movements induced by tunneling in terms of three-dimensional displacements and horizontal strains. The settlement can be analysed by four separate methods to create a profile of settlement at any level above the tunnel.

Structural Software

GSA provides all structural analysis requirements of frame and finite element models, including static and dynamic, linear and non-linear. The program also allows design of steel members and reinforced concrete slabs.

ADC analyses and designs reinforced concrete structural elements and sub-frames to a variety of national design codes. Features include choice of units, selection of concrete and steel materials from a wide range of those available or defined by the user, and user control over reinforcement layout.

AdSec is an analysis program for sections under load. Originally developed for analysis of reinforced concrete sections, AdSec can now analyse concrete, steel or fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sections, or sections composed of any combinations of these materials.

Compos allows the analysis and design of any composite beam comprising an in situ concrete slab (solid or poured on profiled metal decking) supported on the top flange of a steel beam, with vertical shear studs connecting the steel beam and slab.

Seismic Software

GSA is a general purpose frame and finite element analysis tool, also providing steel member and reinforced concrete design. GSA allows seismic analysis via code based equivalent static loads, modal and code based response spectra.

Siren allows investigation of a site response to a seismic event. The site is modelled as a column of soil overlying bedrock. Excitation is assumed to apply at the bedrock level and an explicit time integration scheme is used to calculate the soil response with time.

Sigraph allows time-history and related data to be displayed as a series of "curves". At any point the data can be edited and manipulated in a familiar spreadsheet style.

CAD Software

CADrebar is a tool that provides economical, simple, and fast AutoCAD based concrete detailing and scheduling. It supports both BS8666 and BS4466, and works with AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002 and 2004, etc.

Document Management Software

Columbus is a combined navigator and viewer that allows you to organise and view data in a more structured way. Logically related files and folders can be gathered under one heading even though they are spread across multiple folders and servers around the office or globe.

Mail Manager simplifies and speeds up the process of filing, finding and sharing emails. It is an Outlook plug-in that encourages users to treat emails with the same care given to paper documents, saving time filing and finding messages and improving Quality Assurance compliance and Project Management.
