AdCol
AdCol analyses and designs rectangular, circular and hollow circular columns for axial loads and end moments in accordance with BS 8110, EC2 and Hong Kong design codes. Second order, slenderness, eccentric and construction imperfection effects are automatically included. AdCol offers a large number of bar arrangements and sizes for the user to choose.
Features:
- Single span columns with fully definable end conditions for both axes
- Loads may be axial or end moments; partial load factors are attributed to loads to create analysis cases
- Slenderness is determined from the clear height between end restraints, and either the end conditions or the buckling mode of the column
- Cross sections may be rectangular, circular or hollow circular
AdBeam
AdBeam analyses and designs continuous beams, continuous ribbed slabs, and continuous, one-way spanning, solid slabs in accordance with BS8110 and Hong Kong design codes, including moment redistribution. Support options include simple, encastré, cantilever, upper and lower columns, concrete walls, downstand or flush beams. Load factors and combinations are set to default values for ultimate load analysis to BS8110. They can however be edited by the user to perform serviceability limit analysis or to analyse other required load patterns. AdBeam checks all curtailment, shear, and span/effective depth requirements in accordance with the design code.
Following ultimate load analysis, AdBeam produces a complete reinforcement design, including curtailment, shear checks and span/effective depth checks. AdBeam can also perform moment redistribution before reinforcement design.
Features:
- Continuous reinforced concrete beams with or without column rotational restraints at supports
- Continuous reinforced concrete ribs with or without wall rotational restraints at supports
- Continuous reinforced flat soffit slabs with or without wall rotational restraints at supports
-
Extreme end conditions may be encastré, pinned, cantilever, or column support
- Beam cross sections may be rectangular, taper, tee, taper-tee or general I sections; columns may be rectangular or circular
- Rib cross sections may be tee or taper-tee sections
- Loads may be point, uniform, linear, patch, tri-linear or moments; they can be classed as dead, imposed or user; partial load factors are attributed to each category in the load combinations module
-
Concrete materials can differ between the beam and the column restraints
- Moment redistribution can be specified as a percentage, but remaining with the code allowable limits
